Preparation

  1. In large bowl combine flour and salt. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  2. With fork stir in egg and enough water to moisten dry ingredients.
  3. Divide dough in half, place each half on sheet of waxed paper and press into a flattened disk. Chill at least one hour before rolling.
