Preparation

  1. Put the tomatoes in a saucepan and cook 30 minutes or longer until reduced to three cups.
  2. Heat the oil in a casserole and add the garlic and onion. Cook, stirring, until wilted. Add the meat and cook, stirring, about one minute.
  3. Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Stir to blend. Add the parsley, basil and pepper flakes. Cook, stirring, 10 minutes.
