Can’t seem to find this old style summit anywhere. Just the crazy priced newer ones. Can anyone shine some light on this model? It seems to be in decent shape. Dad wants gas despite my kettle being perfectly fine on the deck (he’s old and doesn’t like lighting it) so I’m trying to scavenge the vast used market

Thanks!

I would look into parts availability first. I don’t think replacements are as readily available as the older genesis but I may be wrong. When that summit was new it was a top of the line unit. If this was near me I would absolutely gamble on it.

  2. Check to see what kind of shape the burners are in. Parts will be hard to come by but if everything is still mint, definitely worth it. That would cost a few mortgage payments brand new today

OG Summit. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. I’d check w/ Weber for parts availability. Probably worth it for $280 if it’s in good shape. If you can’t get parts, I’d probably pass.

$280 will regularly get you a decades newer summit

that thing is an absolute monster. I would totally give that a crack.

Weber seems to have parts avaiable for almost everything I’ve looked for – are there really usnits out there there that you can no longer get replacements for? I still regularly find burners for my ancient Spirit 500 in stock at the Ace Hardware in my hood.

you can get a good idea about the cost of replacement parts on ereplacementparts dot com, probably. that might help you make a decision.

  7. That grill is fucking sick, you should try and fix it

  8. See if the seller know the serial number, and then put that in at [Weber.com](http://Weber.com) and it will show what parts can still be ordered today. My 24 year old Genesis still has burner tubes, wheels, grates, knobs, and manifold available.
