My first CnDP I brought out for a special occasion and wow this thing is F-ing impressive.

Really nice full body and it was just so unbelievably smooth. Not much tannins or bitterness to it, super easy to step into (and awfully more-ish).
I’m not the best at describing wine as I’m still new but this thing blew my socks off, never have I ever had a wine this nice wow wow wow

It’s sort of amazing that the default varietals for red wine, at least in the US, for something like a group dinner or cocktail party or short wine list are cab sauv, merlot, and Pinot noir. It’s crazy that neither barbera nor Grenache/GSM blend is one of the most universal options, because pretty much EVERYONE likes those when they try them. There’s nothing not to like!
