I finally made this last night. This is right up my alley. Tastes a lot like Sauers if anyone is familiar, which is great because I live in Richmond where that sauce is from. This is a tangy sauce, not like your typical sugary bbq sauce. I really enjoyed it and will definitely make this again!!

This is cool. I have wanted to make my own sauce. All over the counter stuff is too sweet.
This looks simple enough. I’ll give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
Do you have to heat it on the stove or anything? Or just put it in a jar and shake?
Does the 1/4 teaspoon really add to the flavor? Seems like a tiny tiny amount.
Maybe just there for when you scale up the recipie?
That is a pretty good base recipe to build off of
I remember the original post – love to see this. Did it turn out as expected?
Thanks for sharing; I just ran to the kitchen and tried it. The 1/2 version.
I didn’t add salt. Ketsup is salt lol.
I really wish I would have tried it before I added the yellow mustard was added because it feels like it’s a little heavy on the mustard side to my pallet.
I don’t know what a dash of Worcestershire sauce means so I put in 1 teaspoon of that 😂.
This is not something I would care to dip my chicken nuggets in or put pour over my pulled pork sandwich….
… but I would put this on ribs for sure.
————-
• ½ cup cider vinegar
• ½ cup ketchup
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• 2 ⅔ tablespoons yellow mustard (or just under 3 tbsp)
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ⅛ teaspoon chili powder
• ⅛ teaspoon salt
• Dash Worcestershire sauce
• 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
This proves that simply writing the word “Worcestershire” will trip you up
Personally I would swap the chili powder for powdered red pepper. I wouldn’t want cumin in my BBQ sauce.
took a screen shot, will try
Add a bit of bourbon and it will give it a little extra boldness.
I too have this recipe/image saved for my next pork butt get together.
