What’s up Anna
I don’t know any Greek who didn’t have Fasolakia Lathera in their house
You’re not Greek if you didnt eat it Everybody that I know that’s
Greek has had Fasolakia Lathera Flat green runner beans potatoes
tomato lots of onions garlic herbs Let’s go cook it taste it eat it
and share it with you guys yes We have a medium pot for this recipe
I’m adding enough oil just to cover the bottom That’s my general rule of thumb when I’m cooking
What temperature do you have it on? Medium I’m gonna add our sliced onions and garlic
Add your garlic in with the onions it’s a little tip so that your garlic doesn’t get burned
A little bit of salt just a pinch That’s going to help draw out
the moisture and cook your onions Fasalkia Lathera is a very easy recipe
It’s pretty much dump everything into the pot Let’s throw in one large potoato
there’s probably about 2 medium potatoes here Now I cut the potatoes differently for
the Fasolakia more like fork size pieces and I’ll show you what I mean
I go like this with my potato Do it again so that’s the wedge
Little bit of cracked black pepper eighth of a teaspoon
I just got ground Allspice here eighth of a teaspoon
You can use freshly grated tomato for this or the pasata okay
I’m gonna put in half a cup you want to have tomato in there to add flavour but you don’t
want to make a tomato sauce out of this either I’m just getting the stems off of the mint
I’ve got about 2 tbsp of mint about half cup of parsley half cup of dill
In go the herbs Mmmmm that smells great
I’m going to put a little bit of water at this point just 1/2 cup not much
Put our lid on 5 minutes Excellent convenience product from
Greece Barba Stathis flat runner beams frozen product ready to go you don’t have
to pull the stringy parts off nothing Add about half a bag of these fasolakia
(green beans) into our catsarola (pot) Tad little bit more water and we’re going
to check in about 15 minutes okay okay Alright look at our fasolakia
Looks nice Think it needs a little bit of water still
so it doesn’t stick in the bottom okay We got our knife let’s check our potatoes
Fork tender We’re gonna add a little more
oil three four tablespoons A little bit more chopped fresh dill
probably about a quarter cup for this Look at that
I’m gonna turn the heat off for this it’s done I’m thinking a little bit
more cracked black pepper Yes why not yeah eighth of a teaspoon
We’re going to taste and see if we need a little bit more salt
It needs some salt otherwise we’re good I’m going to put a little bit
more Allspice thats it pinch One more taste
Needs still a bit more Now we’re going to be good
Fasolakia Lathera ready to go Looks delicious
Mmmmmm there we go this that’s what bread’s for
Mhmmmm so yummy so healthy for you and so delicious
Just like mama makes yiayia (grandmother) your thea (aunt)
