Is it harissa? That’s caught me off guard before.

It is very hot. If you have them add it at the establishment, watch out. 🙂

I think everyone learns this lesson the hard way.

I’ve never run across this but I’m immediately intrigued. I’ve never seen an actually hot hot sauce in packets. From the review about how nuclear it is I assumed it was made with extract, but some quick google fu indicates it’s just chiles and vinegar and spices and other normal hot sauce ingredients.

I wish they sold this in bottles

Hot Sauce is measured in SHU’s, or Scoville Heat Units. The Halal Guys’ Hot Sauce is SERIOUSLY HOT, registering 100,000-130,000 on the Scoville scale.

While the known ingredients are ground red pepper, vinegar, salt, various spices, and concentrated lemon juice, we will keep you guessing on what other secret spices are added to arrive at the iconic flavor profile of the THG Hot Sauce. As The Halal Guys’ Corporate Executive Chef, Shawn Edelman, put it, “it can be described as an insane blend of fiery chilies that wreak havoc on your taste buds!”

I get the red and green on my chicken over rice from the Halal cart. That sauce is delicious but if you aren’t ready for severe spice then maybe just stick the white sauce.

This is the hottest sauce I have received from a chain restaurant, maybe even any restaurant I have been to. Its no joke. I usually ask them for 5 lines of the stuff when making my bowl and most of the time they refuse and give me packets on the side because I bet many people ask for a lot of sauce while building the bowl and then complain its inedible due to being too hot.

It’s flavorless spicy trash. In fact halal guys in general is pretty crap.

Ayyyy. Bury me in the H!

Any good spots for picking up hot sauce in town OP? It’s the same shit at every HEB, Randall’s, and Kroger. Nothing special at Central Market, Whole Foods or 99 Ranch either.

Hala guys stuff, i take about three lines of that stuff, i can do 4 and still be ok. 4thou and i’m not tasting anything else, which is why i stick to 3. It’s hot but i can still taste the food.

Oh yeah fam, wild that they’re putting it in packets now, cuz when they were only on 51st st, they’d be so frugal with that stuff so as to not blow your face off the earth. It’s loved it.

  17. tuna_samich_

It’s the only good thing about Halal Guys, to be honest

  18. WHITEMERLOT69

It’s fuckin incredible but also fuckin spicy as fuck

  19. seanygaiden

Blindly putting a hot sauce you’ve never tasted ALL over your sandwich is Living Like Larry

  20. milliondollarburrito

It’s called Halal, but you thought it would taste like a Mexican or Thai sauce?

  21. SuspiciousJuice5825

Where can I get it lol! A pleasant surprise

  22. fenderputty

That shit is amazing. Two packets for a plate!

  23. mcgrathkai

I made the same mistake. Literally sweating with every bite, waiting to recover, then continuing. Hope you got the original in NYC!

I love Halal Guys! I asked for extra hot sauce last time I was there and got a nod of approval from the manager. Then everyone clapped. Good times!
