Busy Mom Solutions presented by Les. Hi, I’m Susie Neil. Today on Engles Busy Mom Solutions, I’m sharing one of my very favorite family recipes. It’s ham and cheese kiche. We’re going to take a busy mom shortcut cuz we’re not making crust today. We are going to go in with a little secret ingredient in our egg batter. But the first thing I’m going to do is show you how to build the goodies in the kiche. We’re starting off with some cubed ham. I’ve already sprayed my pie plate with non-stick spray. And I picked this ham up already uh already cubed up at Angles. If you’re having a holiday ham, you could cut some of that up, tuck it away in your freezer, and you’d be ready for this dish on a moment’s notice. I’ve got some shredded cheese. I’m going with cheddar today. This is a great opportunity to use up those little bits and bobs of cheese in your cheese drawer. And I’ve got some sliced green onion. I’m going to just sprinkle those over. Right, like that. If you had some purple onion in your drawer, feel free to sub any of that. I’ve got my eggs already cracked. There’s four eggs in the bowl. I’m going to bust up the egg yolks just a little bit because that makes it easier to incorporate. I’ve got milk to make our custard. I don’t know if you realize this, but Engles has the very freshest milk around because we’ve got our own milk processing plant and we source milk from local farmers within like a 150 mile radius. Going to whisk that up. Season it with a little salt and pepper. And here is the magic part of the kiche. This is baking mix. You know baking mix? It’s the same stuff you use to make those sausage cheese balls that your family loves. So, I’m going to whisk that in. And as it bakes in the kiche, it’s magically going to form a pie crust. If you or someone in your family needs to eat gluten-free, look for baking mix that’s gluten-free. Engles has it. So, all I do, Easy, easy, easy, easy as pie or is it easy as kiche today? I’m going to just keep whisking that up to get it incorporated. That looks pretty good. And then simply pour it over all the goodies. It makes a very full pie plate, but that’s what you want. Looks pretty good. I’m going to even out the toppings a little bit. Pop it in the oven and I’ll be right back to show you what it looks like. Oh my goodness, it smells so good in here. The ham and cheese kiche is out of the oven. I let it cool ever so slightly and I cut myself a wedge. Call your family to the table. I’ve got some fresh fruit. Engles has the very freshest strawberries and blueberries that are already washed for you. I’m going to serve it along with my kiche. Engles and Busy Mom Solutions.
