Not enough restaurants in Korea get love on this channel so decided to make a post. Giwakang is by Chef Kang Min Chul (he also owns a ⭐️ michelin starred French restaurant named after him) and focuses on Korean flavors. From the interior decor, you can tell there was a lot of emphasis on celebrating Korean culture. There is so much attention to detail and great story telling to describe how each dish was born.

As for the food, it starts a bit underwhelming with tiny bites but the main courses & dessert are exceptionally done. And this is one of the first fine dining restaurants that I’ve seen to use soy marinated crabs and boy do they do it well. It’s mild, full of umami, and just a perfect bite with a hint of truffle.
