The doors to the Mediterranean restaurant at 5130 Broadway were locked earlier this month due to alleged unpaid rent, CultureMap San Antonio reported. The lockout notice addressed to restaurant owner Saimir Pillana was posted May 8 by Houston-based investment firm Fifth Corner, citing the changing of locks due to the “default in payment of rent and related obligations.”

Fifth Corner and Headwall Investments in late March acquired the 53,000-square-foot Stewart Center, where the restaurant is located. A Google search shows the restaurant is “temporarily closed,” though it is unclear whether it will reopen.

Pillana and his wife opened the eatery last June, taking over the site of the former Pinch Boil House restaurant that closed after owners Andrew Ho and Sean Wen opted to focus on expanding their Curry Boys BBQ chain.

The Express-News attempted to speak to a representative of Grandma’s Greek Taste, but phone calls to the restaurant went straight to voicemail, with no option to leave a message.
