Tyler Drinkwater of the West Village restaurant Dell’anima has proved how well wine, rum and bitters can work together. This drink is named after the Italian city where residents re-enact the Battle of the Oranges and pelt each other with the fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 slice each of lime
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1 slice orange
  • 3 dashes Hella Bitter citrus bitters
  • 2 ounce light rum
  • ½ ounce Campari
  • Enough sparkling Moscato to “float.”

    Preparation

    1. In a mixing glass, muddle the fruits.
    2. Fill with ice, add the other ingredients and shake.
    3. Strain into a highball over ice.
    4. Float the Moscato on top. Garnish with a lemon twist.
