There’s a negroni craze out there in cocktail land. This variation, with raicilla replacing gin, takes the classic in a new, slightly more earthy direction. If you prefer a slice of orange as the garnish instead of a twist of peel, go right ahead.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ ounces raicilla
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • Strip of orange peel

    1 drink

    Preparation

    1. Combine raicilla, Campari and vermouth with ice in a rocks glass. Stir for half a minute.
    2. To serve, twist orange peel over the glass, then drop it in. Alternatively, the drink can be strained into a stemmed cocktail glass with the peel added.
