I am recreating this AMAZING cocktail I had recently at a restaurant.  Normally, I’m a wine girl, but I’m so glad I tried this delicious concoction.  It’s tart and slightly sweet with a little touch of sparkle…and the prettiest color.  It’s a lovely summer drink with fresh muddled blackberries…perfect for sipping at sunset during these last weeks of summer.

Makes one drink

4-5 blackberries
1 T. lemon juice
2 T. elderberry liqueur (such as St. Germain)
1 ½ ounces vodka
splash of soda
Garnish – blackberries and a lemon twist.

In the bottom of a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, lightly crush blackberries to release their juices. Add lemon juice, vodka and elderberry liqueur.  Gently mix and strain into an old fashioned glass over crushed ice.  Top off with a splash of soda.
Garnish with blackberries and a lemon twist and enjoy!
