Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a heavy-bottom fry pan, melt a half cup of sugar, stirring constantly, until it caramelizes.
  3. Pour caramelized sugar into individual custard cups or a glass loaf pan.
  4. Combine sugar with salt and cinnamon. Add pumpkin and eggs. Mix well. Stir in milk, water and vanilla.
  5. Pour mixture into custard cups or loaf pan. Set in hot water bath.
  6. Bake for 1 1/4 hours. Chill.
  7. To serve, turn the cups or pan upside down to obtain the handsome hues of the pumpkin glaze.
