- 1 pound ground raw turkey

Preparation
- Tear the bread into pieces and place in a mixing bowl. Add milk, turkey, onion, salt and pepper to taste, cloves and nutmeg. Mix well with your hands.
- Form the mixture into eight small patties. Make knife cuts on each patty, lengthwise and then crosswise, so they will look as if they were cooked on a grill. Sprinkle grated cheese over the patty tops.
- Put oil in a skillet over high heat. Reduce to medium and cook burgers 4 minutes on each side.
- Remove burgers from the skillet and set aside on a warm platter. Pour out the oil and add butter to the skillet. Melt, stirring, over medium heat. Add the vinegar and water, stirring and scraping bottom of pan.
- Pour the sauce over the turkey burgers and serve.
