What happened to "grow big or go home"?!?
Excited to get my MIGardener tomato seeds started once they arrive. I've been refreshing the order screen for a week now while waiting for the order to ship. The gardening itch is rough this year! I need my fix.
Yep you can start them, hope others get better germination rates than I am experiencing. Some less than 50%.
I have a question I’m going to start an asparagus bed as soon as the ground allows me don’t know when that’s going to be we just got 2 foot of snow. I was wondering this year if I could put a planting of onion bulbs in the bed and at least get something out of that bed this year and allowed the asparagus to come up around them and not touch that to the following year if it’s ready?
Here in Upstate NY. zone 5, I won't be planting anything outside for quite a while. We still have a lot of snow on the ground but I will be starting some onions inside this week.
👍🏼
Do you trim your onions when growing inside with lights?
Chard is big-annual. Both my pots & in ground lasted through the hard freeze we had in S NC this yr. Also my fennel, oregano, & thyme. My rosemary in pot is going on 5 yrs now. My parsely in pot made it in non-climate control greenhouse as well😊
Thanks for continuing to tell us this year after year I am a daily watcher of YouTube and I know there're old videos but but I already watched them!
Peas!!
Brilliant update, very informative 😃
Loved it, Luke. Very helpful. Does anyone add Mycorrhizal to their potting soil?
I’m in Central Florida 9b.I don’t believe most of the seeds you presented will perform well in daily 85 – 90 degree heart and humidity. Marigolds, Nasturtiums are already in the ground along with rosemary.
Can I plant sugar baby watermelon up north by Cheboygan Mich. If so when is a good time to plant
Fake hanging potted flowers in the greenhouse? Tisk tisk Mr Marion lol
Rabbits love marigolds.
What zone are you in?
What Zone are you Luke?
I was shoveling the snow off my raised beds yesterday and putting black plastic down to help thaw it faster. I have cold hardy things that are almost ready to go out but my beds are frozen! Temps are starting to consistently go above freezing so I'm impatiently waiting……
Thank you Luke! I think your explanation of onion starting finally sunk in.
Hi I had a puzzling question that maybe someone can help me with…I had a few seedlings I put out and they all disappeared without a trace! Not sure what happened.
This year we put in 12 raised metal beds and planted 16 trees and numerous berries.
You mentioned how long it takes for artichokes to grow. They're perennial in my zone 9 b 10A Southern California and I've already got artichoke globes growing out of my plants that I started last year at about this time. I got a couple few out of them last year. Over wintered and have already got a couple growing right now getting ready to harvest soon. Love your channel keep on growing
Hey Luke, thank's for the detailed information. It is super helpful.
I recently received my first seeds from MIgardener, and am very happy with them. One suggestion, it would really help to have the botanical name on the package. It doesn't need to be big, bold or prominent; just somewhere on the package.
Thanks for your enthusiastic encouragement to us home gardeners.
If you have a grow shelf or grow room, you can start basil any time of the year. If it gets too big come planting time, you can propagate it into smaller plants. More basil plants is always a good thing.
Thanks so much for keeping us updated on what to plant when and the detailed information that goes with each one. I love the reminders & how to’s. Happy St Patrick’s Day Friday! 🥬🥔🍀
Fun fact ground hogs love marigolds
Thanks for the video, it's encouraging to know I still have time. Most of my first wave didn't turn out well. All my radishes have already bolted. It was a high of 70° yesterday and it's supposed to be a low of 25° tomorrow.
Do you grow medical herb plants? Where is the best place to find Yarrow, Valerian, st. Jhons wart, mad skull cap, ect.
Thank you so much for this information. I live in Michigan just north of Flint and my climate is quite like yours. I am starting more seedlings tomorrow so this video was just in time for my indoor sowing. The herb information was especially helpful. I planted cabbage, kale, Swiss chard and celery already. I’m going to sow more celery also. Keep up the good work. Take care.
Luke..,what about ground cherries can you show us how ..seeds are so small ..are they easy ?
Thanks for that tip about broccoli!
Also can you help us with Best way to do carrots
I was looking at your seed packets, you use the same brand as I have. 😀
Unless there is a cauliflower variety that handles heat I’m not quite sure they can wait as it’s a cool weather veg.
Not starting nightshades too soon as a larger plant is not a better plant.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It has help us a lot and my channel has a lot of influence from yours. We started a seed library a couple years ago and it has grown into something great. I'll have a video on that soon with a shout out to MIgardener.
Lmao next week we have a forecasted day of high 56° and overnight low of 26° 🎢🎢🎢😆
Luke would you do a cat safe plant garden show I would love to grow one for my cat of cat friendly plants I can’t find any seeds other then cat grass or cat nip
I wish that you would carry a cat friendly seed collection
Luke fans out a whole lot of seed packets. And I'm thinking, "oh no, now I'm going to want more seeds". But I still enjoyed watching!
Do you have a video on vegetables and herbs that can be multi sown then divided?
