Have you seen insects or mushrooms in your garden, and wondered if it’s time to panic and get out the sprays? Well, in some instances, those bugs (and fungi) we see may be beneficial to the health of our garden ecosystems. Not all garden visitors are bad–in moderation.
We’ll talk about when it’s time to step in and intervene, if needed, and we’ll discuss what happens when we wait and let nature take its course.
Be sure to visit our Instagram page for more photos of what’s happening week by week @gardening.keeps.me.grounded
And, if you are local to the San Diego area, stop by our shop for a visit! See www.nclawnmower.com for hours and directions.
We also have another channel @northcountylawnmower where Tom gives you tips on maintaining and repairing your outdoor power equipment….and more!

Here in SC, we never want the ants in our gardens. They are fire ants. They bite and sting you. Their nests create air pockets around your plants and kill them. The roots dry up. Maybe they cut roots as they build their tunnels for the nests. Not sure about that.
