This week, we’re featuring **Brighton Beach** and **Manhattan Beach** since Summer is upon us.
Some prompts:
* What are some of your favorite food spots or “hidden gems”?
* Any “must have” or go to dishes from those particular spots?
* Are there any points of interest or events that is worth going out of the way to visit?
We’re going by this unofficial [Google Map overlay](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1VYN-6Vkk01byUCF7P13rT6ORT5g) as a GENERAL outline as to what the neighborhoods are. It’s not a strict requirement but try not to go too far outside of the boundaries.

Kashkar and Omar Khayyam for food. Definitely worth it, unique food and cheap
Cafe Kashkar and the hot bar at Tashkent Supermarket.
I will happily be the third person in a row to shout out Kashkar Café. Get yourself a pot of tea and some lagman noodles and sit there feeling incredibly grateful to live in an American city that has Uyghur restaurants. Most people in the western world do not get the opportunity to enjoy this particular brand of deliciousness.
Tashkent Supermarket — where to even start? A treasure trove of Uzbek dishes.
Varenichnaya is one of only a few places in the city where you can get a good bowl of solyanka, a Russian sour soup that has a little bit of everything in it.
And while I haven’t ben yet myself, I’ve only heard amazing things about the baked goods on offer at Little Georgia.
Beyti Kebab, Cafe Euroasia
I really like Toné Cafe for the Khachapuri and Khinkali, pretty reasonable last time I went too.
Oceanview Cafe!
Georgian House for authentic Georgian food. Order the Megruli Khachapuri, you’ll thank me later.
