A staple for Columbia Medical students. Because of the constant flux of customers, the constant turnover and cooking means you’re guaranteed to get a plate with fresh meat. If you like grilled onions, this plate is perfect for you, and if not, just ask for them to put less. The red sauce packs a punch, so make sure you go extra white if you’re adding more than a few dabs of red sauce. Overall, the best for-its-price lunch option in all of Washington Heights

I first moved to the city for grad school at Columbia and ate so many falafels over rice from here to sustain me. They have good egg & cheeses in the morning too. Haven’t had halal food that measures up since. Glad to see it get the recognition it deserves. Great stuff.

This is our go-to in the neighborhood and yes, their red sauce hits the spot.

I been semi gate keeping this from online, but I tell everyone that homie is the best uptown, he’ll most of Manhattan. And he got great hours.

There was a truck called Halal Boys, maaaaaan, now THEY were top 1. Cool as dudes. Had two carts, one in 181 and one in 168th, but then kinda just disappeared.
