Here’s another anti barstool take.

I don’t follow this Barstool critic, but it’s something to think about when politics gets involved with food. Sometimes food isn’t just food anymore. It’s so much more.

I would’ve loved to check all these spots out in one place but don’t like lines and standing in the rain.

Personally, I can’t stand the guy. Could t have possibly cared less about him and his pathetic influencer behavior. Then I began seeing him absolutely ruin relaxed, welcoming, neighborhood places, causing an influx of people that these places weren’t equipped to handle. Everyone thinks these places are making bank now, due to his boosting of their popularity. Fact of the matter is that these were often establishments that serviced the neighborhood. That meant that these were restaurants where letter carriers, EMTs, local contractors, etc… could grab a quick bite before returning to their day. Now these restaurants have had to drop menu items to accommodate people coming in because this asshole couldn’t just have a marketable skill. It’s not about him giving established businesses exposure. It’s about him needing attention from anyone who’d give it to him. Absolutely pathetic. The guy is old enough where he should be ashamed of himself and his gross desire for the accolades of strangers.

A lot of people are saying the worst thing about Dave is the hypocrisy, but to me the worst part about him is the raping.

  4. DuckDuckGoneForGood

    I’ve never taken him seriously.

You cannot judge a pizza with one bite.

And I’ve tried places he’s rated lower that were better than crap he rated higher.

He showed up late to my local pizza spot and then gave them a lower rating because the pie wasn’t fresh. And he even said he showed up late so, he just looked like an asshole all around.

I love pizza and kinda hate Dave because all he cares about is how crispy it is.

Little to no mention of the sauce or cheese, he only cares about the crust and he rates it higher the more burnt it is.

  6. SwampSleep66

    He’s such a douche. It’s kinda incredible.

  7. SugarSweetSonny

I wish I had actually gone to this.

If they do it next year, I’ll go.

  8. Swagyolodemon

Don’t really care but you kinda have to be a fool to pay 200 bucks for that.

  9. Insomniac_80

    *He is a rapey asshole*….

Besides that point, an event like that has the potential to be good, *but with the option of an indoor space in case of inclement weather.* If I’m paying $200.00 for a pizza festival, and there is a tropical storm I want a space where I can be inside with a table and place to put my umbrella and raincoat!

FUCK Dave Portnoy, scumbag piece of shit.

  11. MaarDaarPoepIkUit

It’ll be a good day when the fucking Barstool empire crumbles

  12. BigBoyGoldenTicket

Funny, I just found out about this guy the other day.

Nobody should be paying attention to Internet personalities

  13. Event looked awesome, all the best pizza in the northeast in one spot. People were leaving with boxes full of leftovers too. Not worth it if you live in NYC and can get most of them whenever you want but I don’t and I def regret not going

  14. Article was bunk. Some people are just angry. Point number 4 was a bald face lie.

  15. musicman3321

Maybe don’t mix politics and food caaaause it’s food.

  16. SittingOnA_Cornflake

I’m not a fan of his but some of you guys make it a core part of your personality to hate him lol. Who cares.

  17. mmmagic1216

There’s no controversy other than Washington Post & others literally trying to paint Portnoy into a corner as a bad guy while actively turning sponsors against him for no reason.

  18. Local_Signature5325

The victimhood narrative right wingers are all over this.

  19. Not a religious person, but I feel like it pouring that day made sense.

  20. fluffstravels

I don’t know anything about him except for his review videos I’ve watched. He just comes across as every straight guy’s suppressed homosexual attraction, that alpha male they envy and wish they were close with but aren’t in real life.

Also, him shitting in Neapolitan style pizza cause it’s a floppy crust is such a dumb take I don’t understand how anyone takes him seriously.

  21. People aren’t going for the pizza. they are going because they are fans of portnoy and barstool sports. So while I agree with everything that this author wrote on why it is a bad idea to go to this, he’s not changing anyone’s mind because they aren’t going for the pizza.
