is this the best restaurant at Disney World a lot of you guys seem to think so go is an African inspired restaurant with vibrant spices a wood burning oven and from what I’m being told incredible food let’s go check it [Music] out we are here tonight at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to return to a restaurant that I haven’t dined at in quite some time and it’s because of the encouragement from all of you guys that we are finally back here dining at goo every time I make a video referencing the best steaks on property the best mac and cheese on property the best restaurant on property I always get so many comments saying what about go and I’m happy to say that I’m finally back and going to eat here again the last time I actually ate at goo was preco when they had the Lion King menu so it’s been a very very long time and I really loved it back then I don’t know what took me so long to come back and one of the best parts about dining at goic or really anywhere at Animal Kingdom Lodge is you get to enjoy the beautiful Ambiance of the lodge outside see the animals and then also come inside and see this amazing amazing Lobby before or after your reservation I love this Lobby and not only because it looks fantastic in here you also get the scent of all of the food from BMA which is the buffet on the first floor kind of coming up and filling the lobby with that delicious scent and you can see here at Animal Kingdom Lodge there are quite a few dining options we have Bulma which is an African Buffet we have jico which is where we’re eating tonight a fancy African restaurant we have sa which is on the other side of the resort um it’s kind of more like a casual but sit down restaurant and then they have the mara which is the Quick Service restaurant and one place they actually left off of that list is Victoria Falls Lounge it’s a little bar kind of it’s more I’d say it’s more than a Lobby Bar they have a couple of light bites some great drinks we’re actually going to pass it on our way down to go so right off the lobby there is this set of stairs here we’ve made our way down and here we are in Victoria Falls and right below Victoria Falls is Bulma one of the most beloved restaurants anywhere on property like I mentioned it’s a buffet and it is so good you could smell everything and watch everyone dining and enjoying that food we’re going to head down there in just a minute because go is actually located like right next to Bulma you can see we’ve got Bulma right here that’s where you check in for Bulma and to the right that’s where you check in for goic now we of course have the menu right here outside of the restaurant but every time I go to a restaurant whether I’m filming a video or not I already have that menu memorized I already know exactly what I’m getting before I sit down sometimes I make like a game time decision and switch things up I’ll show you guys the menu in a little bit we’re working on a table we might have to wait a little bit longer because I’m trying to get one by the window because there’s a really good view of some animals if you sit by the window so while we wait I’ll show you this little Lounge area there’s three tables here and then a bar I’m not sure if you could order the food from go here I’m actually going to ask um but you can definitely order some cocktails maybe some light bites let me find out so yes confirmed you can order the whole menu at the lounge there and just a heads up the menu is a little more pricey than some of the videos that we usually do it’s definitely a signature dining restaurant so expect some fancier dishes some higher price tags and all that stuff okay we have made it on into our table and we did get a window seat I wanted to sit by the window because um you could get a view of flamingos from your table like they’re literally just right next to you and they definitely did help me with the window seat however I think I’m in the one window seat that does not have flamingos next to to it like I’m kind of just cut off I’ll show you so you can see my table’s like right at the entrance of the restaurant and the flamingos and all the animals are just over the rock over there right over there just chilling thank you you’re welcome your Serv going to be M and oh it smells so good rose water rose water I smell it smells great thank [Music] you wash my hands and it’s it’s a nice touch I love what a signature restaurant does that they used to do it at Flying Fish where they give you like a towel that you put in water and then it like expands I don’t know it’s just something small that kind of makes it feel a bit more signature to me now that we’ve got our hands all washed up we’ll take a look at the menu here starting with the drink menu we’ve got specialty cocktails on this side we’ve got beers on this side and if we continue around we have which I read online the most expansive list of South African wines outside of South Africa here at jic and you can see there are just so many to choose from I am quite tempted to get some wine because of that little fact there but I think I’m going to skip out today they do have some other interesting cocktails that I want to show you guys too though and a lot of the reason that I think they’re interesting is because the names are quite funny cuz I have to do with things like an animal kingdom like the mount kilam Marita like a kilamanjaro safari Margarita okay and then a bobob like the bobob tree in the Safari so there’s some more featured cocktails for you like I said I think I’m going to skip out today though but thing I definitely will be ordering is an appetizer and I’m having a really tough time deciding which appetizer to get because I quite literally like every single appetizer on this menu um so I don’t know I’m having a tough time deciding here guys here’s what we’re working with up top we’ve got the bore Tender Loin which I know is the popular one everyone says this is amazing so I’m so tempted they have the goo salad and I’m pretty sure they make this salad with ingredients from the land and I’ve seen photos and videos of it it looks beautiful we also have this diver scallop with pork belly which sounds amazing it has a corn cream mustard caviar and I absolutely love scallops so very tempted by that too this is my server’s favorite the duck coni and honey raisin flatbread so another thing I’m tempted by and originally I almost wanted to get these dumplings but then I realized they were plant-based so I think I’m going to skip on that and then muscles I love muscles too so I don’t know guys I am dining here alone tonight so getting two appetizers would be quite crazy I wish someone was here with me so I could get two we could kind of split them off but that’s not in the cards tonight so I think right now I’ve narrowed it down I’ve narrowed it down to two I think I’m between the bore tenderloin the most popular one and the diver scallop with the pork belly the ingredients on that dish just sound so interesting I don’t know is anyone like me and you look up the restaurant you’re dining at before to see what you get look we got my friend Lexi right there we’ve got my friend Brian right there I saw bethy’s video here so I’m watching everyone’s videos kind of this this making my decisions before we get to our appetizers we were given some of the complimentary bread and this is something that everyone makes sure to highlight in their videos saying that it’s amazing they call this a giraffe bread and before they put the bread in the oven to bake they actually put rice flour on top and while the bread is baking the rice flour on top cracks and kind of forms the shape the pattern of a giraffe and it looks so awesome it’s served with a special butter which actually has bobob fruit mixed into the butter and and it’s topped with a black truffle sea salt I didn’t actually know that there was such thing as bobob fruit you guys hear bobob tree all the time when you ride the Safari which by the way I’m wearing my kilamanjaro Safari shirt all the shirts that you see in my videos are from shop lbb the link Down Below in the description to shop from they’re awesome but back to the bobob tree you always hear it mentioned but I didn’t know there was like an actual fruit I’m assuming it comes from the tree it’s called a bobob fruit but that’s so interesting I can’t wait to try out this butter and after all it is just me dining tonight so I I say we do do a little rip and dip dip in the butter I guess the bobob fruit is a little bit sour cuz it’s butter is like sour I want to try the bread bread on its own and this bread is so tasty the actual like inside of the bread itself is very very soft I feel like the inside isn’t anything special but really sends this over the edge is that rice flour on top it adds just the perfect crunch on there it it makes it really delicious I do wish it was served warm a lot of the signature restaurants will serve like sourdough I feel like that’s the go-to for Signature restaurants a sourdough bread and they serve it warm and that’s what really does it um so I do wish this was served warm but still it’s very very good I’m not sure how I feel about the butter so much [Music] though yeah so I don’t like the butter that much like I said it’s too sour I’m not getting like any saltiness coming through it’s just like sweet and sour not my kind of thing but this bread okay on to apps and I ultimately decided to go with what I haven’t seen a review of before the diver scallop with pork belly this has a seared scallop with a sumac roasted pork belly corn cream mustard caviar and a fennel crisp for $18 side note the napkin is branded it says the name on it I feel like restaurants don’t have like that specialty touch anymore I feel like this might be one of the only restaurants that actually has like the name on the napkin these days but let’s dive into the scallop I dipped my scallop in that corn puree and I’m hoping that I made the right decision with this appetizer I hope I don’t regret it and wish I got the bore we’ll [Music] see I definitely don’t regret it the scallop itself is cooked really well it’s seasoned perfectly and has a really nice crust it’s not the biggest scallop I’ve had and for $18 I kind of wish the scallop itself was a little bit bigger but that corn puree underneath is what makes it that corn in there it’s so sweet that corn is so delicious it pairs so well with the scallop now we got to try the pork belly break myself off a piece of that pork belly and I dipped it in of course plenty of that corn [Music] puree okay that pork belly might actually be even better than the scallop it’s so fatty but the fat just like melts in your mouth and they cooked it so well so it has like a really crispy outer shell that’s delicious with that corn puree as well and I was told that the corn puree was kind of just added to the dish recently it’s kind of a new thing and let me tell you that corn P puree in this whole dish is a GameChanger I would like the pork belly on its own I would also like the scallop on its own but the corn puree takes it from here to here I am finishing off this scallop in just three bites and I would be mad if there was just the scallop on this plate but we’re at a fancy restaurant I also think the piece of pork belly that they give you is a decent size to kind of justify if you will that $18 price tag now it’s definitely not a dish that I think you could like share this is definitely like a one person appetizer because there’s only like one scallop um but if you just want a couple bites then maybe share it so definitely not the biggest portion but the flavor is there we’ve had our bread we’ve had our appetizer now it’s time for the Entre and this one’s an easier choice for me I knew 100% what I was getting as soon as I came into this restaurant today I knew what I was going for um let me show you guys the menu here we are with the Entre from the Oak Grill which are steaks you could either get a bone marrow crusted fan or a Bray New York strip they also have a Moroccan spiced lamb shank a seafood tajine which is I guess just a mix of seafood with couscous they have a sustainable fish Harry Perry chicken a vegan dish here with plant-based stews some venison and then short ribs here continuing down though they also have some enhancements so things that you could kind of add to your Entre they have fire roasted shrimp some oxtail that sounds so good I love oxtail as well as the special mac and cheese a couple of weeks ago I posted a video over on Instagram and Tik Tok talking about the top three steaks on property and a lot of people were like wait where’s the Steak from go in this list a lot of people were very upset that it wasn’t included so I’m back I’m finally going to try and speaking of Instagram and Tik Tok make sure you guys are all following me over there at right down Main Street same name as on here uh you’ll find me I post some pretty awesome short form stuff as well um so yeah had to get the steak here and like I mentioned we have a choice between a filet and the New York strip it also comes with mac and cheese and veggies um but there is a mac and cheese that everyone knows me is the mac and cheese lady um there’s another mac and cheese on the menu here with a couple more fancy things so so I had to double down and get this one too we are definitely going to have a lot of mac and cheese on this table but that’s okay I do it for you guys the food has all arrived and first I’ve got to show you guys this steak this is a bone marrow crusted fetan served with four cheese macaroni seasonal veggies and a chocolate red wine demig glaze for $59 typically I’m more of like a ribey or a strip steak kind of person but I saw that the fillet was crusted with bone marrow and I love bone marrow so I knew I had to get the filet here in fact I remember back in the day when I used to come preco to go they had this bone marrow dish with clams that I would always get from the appetizer menu and I absolutely love that so we’ll see how this filt is here I got a nice big piece here with ton of that bone marrow crust on top let’s try a second piece [Music] there something that I’m not quite loving about this fillet and I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is maybe it’s a bit of that chocolate red wine demig glaze I’m not really I am tasting a little bit of chocolate and I’m not liking it the the Ft itself has an intense Smoky flavor I’m assuming from they’re like putting it in the Woodfired Grill um let me get some of this bone marrow off on its own and see if it’s maybe that that I’m not really loving that doesn’t so much tastes like bone marrow more tastes like bread crumbs it is cooked to a perfect medium rare it’s tender but not quite as tender as the filet over at naris um I think it’s just like the extreme smokiness I don’t like I do like a like little bit of smokiness and Char on like a ribeye or a strip steak but I’m not sure if it has much of a place on a filet and that bite had more of the chocolate demig glaz which I definitely do not like that I’ve I’ve come to the conclusion I’m not a fan of the sauce but I just feel like the filet itself is just tasting a little bit off even when it doesn’t have the sauce on it so yeah if you are looking for a good filt I prefer the one over at naris I think the flavor is better it’s seasoned better and it’s just overall way more tender that’s my number one fillet my stin my steak ranking Remains the Same with narzi fet on top the uh strip steak from flying fish at number two and the Ribeye from lelia at three and now for the four cheese mac and cheese this is the one that comes with the fan with the steak when you order it um I’m assuming it says it has four cheeses and it looks like it has a little bit of uh maybe like goldfish CR crushed up on top try this out the pasta is very very overcooked it’s not very creamy it’s kind of like dry there is plenty of cheese but it’s very very dry it’s reminding me a lot of the mac and cheese from Steakhouse 71 except the mac and cheese over there is a little bit sharper which I love a sharp mac and cheese like a really sharp cheese sauce this does have enough of the cheese sauce however it might have been baked so it kind of dried it out just a bit I’m not getting any sharpness coming through from any of the cheeses the steak kind of like the mac and cheese is good but it’s not great it was hyped up a lot and I don’t think it’s meeting that hype quite that much I’m hoping the last dish of the entree round can kind of save us here this is the bobot mac and cheese enhancement it has four cheese mac and cheese spiced beef almonds raisins and a red wine reduction for $17 you guys have seriously been trying to get me to try this mac and cheese for years I did a mac and cheese series over on Tik to where I went around trying every mac and cheese at Disney World I never got to this one um and it’s been quite a while since I’ve done a mac and cheese review so I’m definitely going to do another one on this one um it sounds really interesting raisins on top of mac and cheese there’s a lot of really interesting stuff on this dish I’m hoping it pulls through for us you can really smell all of the African spices here they’re very very strong very very vibrant try this mac and cheese out this is definitely the best thing on the table right now it’s essentially the mac and cheese that they serve with the fillet just with all those other things on top but all of those other things on top give it the flavor that I was looking for also the red wine reduction and kind of like the juices from the beef and the tomatoes and all that stuff kind of come together to make a creamier mac and cheese I guess you could say it’s not as dry as the other one um which is I just got a little almond in that bite and the almond really good adds a nice crunch to it the beef is definitely seasoned well I will say I’m not the biggest typically the biggest fan of like African and Indian spices which that beef is certainly seasoned with a ton of that it’s good but it’s not like fully for it’s not fully fitting my taste I still think it’s good and I still think it’s the best thing on this table by far but I don’t think for me I would personally like go out of my way to come order this just because I don’t love that kind of seasoning enough of all this mac and cheese I got to get back to this steak because if I spend $59 on a steak I’m not letting a single bite go to waste as I’m eating more of this filet I think I’m realizing kind of what I’m not loving as much even more um I don’t like when a filet or a steak tastes like a hamburger patty and I have this issue at Toledo every single time I go I know everyone loves Toledo but every single time I go to Toledo and I get the steak it tastes like a hamburger to me it just doesn’t taste like good quality beef and this kind of tastes similar and that it tastes like a burger patty I also feel like there’s just not enough seasoning on this so like literally and which steaks good quality steak shouldn’t have too much seasoning on it salt and pepper is all you need but I definitely should have asked for some more salt and pepper because this just tastes like a bland hamburger patty kind of as full as I am we are not quite done yet we still have desserts and hopefully this will turn things back around for us instead of reading and trying to pronounce all of these very difficult names that I am bound to mess up I am just going to show you them right here so you can read and see exactly what they have and I don’t have to make a fool of myself trying to pronounce this stuff but I will say I ended up going with this one which I did figure out how to pronounce properly and it’s called the poy pot this has chocolate custard a lemon olive oil cake whipped caramel and a cocoa nib crunch with cherries for $16 and how beautiful is this dessert guys this plate is very very impressive I didn’t expect this much chocolate though when I saw lemon olive oil you don’t really think chocolate I guess it did say a lot of chocolate on the menu in the description um so I don’t know how I missed that but we’ll see how it is it looks it looks fantastic look at this they’ve also got some gold on the plate here but let’s dig in let’s get a bite of this bad boy okay I think the lemon olive oil is in this cake that’s under there and that that whipped caramel looks so good guys this is a huge bite why did I get such a big bite that’s delicious this is the best thing I’ve eaten today the whipped caramel that’s on top it’s so rich it’s salty the dish overall almost has a little bit of like an espresso taste I taste a little bit of coffee here I didn’t get much of that lemon olive oil cake though in the first bite I love the crunch from the cocoa nib on the bottom the cake itself the lemon olive oil cake it’s had bit dry but everything else amazing and now I’m getting that lemon flavor and shockingly the lemon Flav lemon flavor is like pairing pretty well with the chocolate and all that like bit of espresso flavor it’s really good I love it thank you I don’t share that [Laughter] either usually when desserts look this good they don’t taste that good but that is not the case here man I was full I was full and I was like uh I’ll just have a couple bites I might no longer be just having a couple bites I might have to finish his whole thing I think I am done here I can’t do any more guys and they gave us these pineapple jellies here to end our meal they’re supposed to be like a pallet cleanser that you eat at the very end just like the towel in the beginning of the meal this is another very nice touch that I love when like signature restaurants do something just small it just makes it feel like a little bit more a little bit better like you’re just spending all this money so it feels a little bit better spending it tastes like a jelly doll whip I’ve been getting a couple of requests to show the final check after my meal so today after my 20% annual passholder discount I spent $93.7 on my food and then I just tipped back that $22 the 20% discount is pretty much like free tip that’s how I look at it um because once they take that money off you just tip that right back tip the 20% right back so total 9372 plus tip we’re finished with our meal and since I was sitting right there kind of right at the front of the restaurant I want to show you guys a little bit further into the restaurant it is so beautiful in here it’s so unique a very great Vibe and around this Cor Corner over here we have those wood burning ovens and you can actually sit up here they call it kind of like the chef’s table so it’s kind of a unique experience that you could have here at go and you could watch them cook and prepare all the food if I wasn’t filming today I would definitely want to sit up here that’s so cool and I’ve come outside here to see if I could find the flamingos on the other side of the restaurant and I don’t know if I’m going crazy am I just imagining things that there used to be flamingos out here am I just imagining this but there’s none right now so maybe they’re on maybe they’re on vacation I don’t know or I’m just imagining it that could also be the case Okay so let’s talk about our dinner at goo today highly requested restaurant for me to dine at highly requested steak for me to try highly requested mac and cheese for me to try so there was quite a bit riding on my dinner here at goo tonight and overall I’m not quite sure it delivered now if you asked me back in 2020 what my top five restaurants at Disney World were would make that list now of course now at this point I’ve dined at way more places but still back in 2020 I still had a good amount checked off my list and goo definitely made it I had some amazing meals at Goico preo specifically with that Lion King menu I remember loving it we came all the time I came every time with my family and um maybe what I ordered tonight just wasn’t the best specifically the entree round now my appetizer that scallop and pork belly with the corn puree was F fantastic I would definitely recommend that and I would definitely order it again like I said I talked to some of the chefs as well they said that’s a brand new menu item and everyone seems to be loving it and I definitely did as well we kind of fell off a bit with the Entre though so I ordered the filet and um it just wasn’t the best quality of meat it was under seasoned now maybe it was just a bad day for the steak but tonight it just wasn’t my favorite now the mac and cheese enhancement was really good it didn’t quite fit my flavor profile that I like but I understand why people really enjoy that we picked it back up with the dessert that dessert was absolutely phenomenal loved it thought it was amazing and I would definitely recommend that as well and the menu as a whole at Goico is very unique they experiment with a lot of flavors that you don’t see at other Disney restaurants so it’s definitely for people that kind of are adventurous eaters and interested in trying new things but after my experience tonight could I recommend goic over some other signature dining restaurants probably not I Still Still definitely think naris and citros are definitely the better options if you’re looking for a fancier sit down dining meal will I return though for sure I definitely think it was an off night on the steak and if I came again I’d definitely get something different and next time I would even get like a couple of appetizers and share them with the table maybe get a couple of appetizers a glass of wine that seems like the move for me because a lot of those appetizers seemed really good and next time I’m determined to try that boar that is going going to do it for us here tonight at the Animal Kingdom Lodge shout out to all of my patreon   4. Hi yah, great honest review. My wife and I are visiting Orlando in November for our 25th wedding anniversary. For a special night out on the anniversary night itself, which restaurant would you recommend? We love steaks or Indian food.

  6. Thanks for the honest review. I'm thinking when meat has that hamburger taste it's when it's stayed in the fridge too long, that leftover meat taste. It woukd be hard to go there when Boma is a stone's throw away.

  7. My bf and I experienced jikos when we were castmembers way back in 2006-2007. And it was splendidly amazing. Delicious food. It’s one of the top restaurants in the world 🌎

  8. You HAVVVVVE to get the boar tenderloin!!!! It’s what keeps me coming back to this restaurant – we typically do this as our entrees (and Michael – he’s wonderful)

  9. Went here a few weeks ago, it was absolutely awful. The steak had a terrible crust and was tough. The Mac and cheese tasted like Panera. And the service was the worst I've had at any restaurant, Disney or not. I advise skipping this place if you're on property. We tried most of the menu (party of 19) zero standouts.

  10. oh man! 😐 this one has been on my "To Try" list for awhile…. it still is, but at least now my FOMO isn't as bad! 😅🤣 For the money, Boma seems like a better one to try. Great video as usual!

  12. Baobab is a superfood! It has a tangy, citrusy flavor. The pods dry while they are on the tree, drop to the ground, and when you crack it open you can crush it into a powder. It has some of the most antioxidants of any food!! I add it to my water or lemonade, etc and its soooo tasty. I bet it was good in that butter.

  13. My favorite restaurant on Disney property is Narcoossee. The Almond cheesecake alone, but everything else is delicious too and the view is priceless, especially at fireworks time.

  15. After what you've been thru lately with Disney and their steaks, I would reason they have had to change to a different meat distributor because they're going broke. Obviously, they're not buying high quality meat anymore. But haven't adjusted their prices accordingly. A filet should NEVER taste like a burger. You Can buy filet mignon burgers, I guess they grind up filet that didn't sell yesterday. And they are better quality than other burgers. But not the other way around. Sour butter made me think of a spoiled taste. I hope you take plenty of Rolaids with you!!! Lol. You are a real trooper. Lately the food has been awful. Taking one for the team! 👍

  16. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't care for BOMA. I love Sanaa though. Jiko was closed forever after Covid and maybe that's why we all forgot about it.

  17. The flamingos are over the other side of the pool. Go past the playground and you’ll find them. Can also see the Savanah back there on the left

  18. Went in December and loved the Filet and mac&cheese! Also liked the Duck Flatbread but disappointed by the Chicken entree.

  19. Thank you for the honestly! We went to Jiko for our 20th anniversary on the suggestion from many podcasters and we were so disappointed! The steak was dry and we really didn’t like the flavor. For what we paid for this meal, we could have gone to Ruth’s Chris and had their amazing filet.

  20. We ate at Jiko and it wasn't just a fluke. I had the same reaction as you to the fillet and mac and cheese. I think we would have been better off getting anything else on the menu.
