I heard the fat will drip a lot into the bbq for flares. Both A5 wagyu, but top steak is better for BBQ?

Found in a supermarket in Tokyo Japan. Wagyu is extremely cheap here! (2000yen = US$13)

    Definitely the leaner meat. Buy the fattier meat for when you cook it in a pan so you don’t waste all the flavor to the fire

    The A5 waygu is for….. actually I don’t know what it’s for. It’s like 80% fat.

    I would also go the leaner cut.. This particular piece of “top tier waygu” would be reduced to nothing after searing. Too much loss to deal with.

    Go get an actual steak. These are like 1/4″ thick.
