Hey everybody, slightly off topic, but I’m finally looking to unload my smoker I built a few years back. It’s in great shape and cooks wonderfully. What would you guys say it’s worth and how would you go about selling it? I’m located in NW Florida.

Not in a massive rush to sell, but sooner the better always

Its worth nothing sir. My apologies. Because i am such a nice guy i will dispose if that for you free of charge. You can drop it of or i will even pick it up to help you out.

Dang that is nice. Based off of the market I’d say anywhere from 2-4k.

Unfortunately this is kinda one of those things that’s only worth what somebody would give fore it. That being said, it looks great, and with all the features it has I’d expect to find it over the $4k mark. Not a ton of market research to do here, though.

What is your height?   I’m only 5’3 and would have a hard time reaching the grill pet alone the cooling rack on top without a step ladder

$50 Bucks. *spits in hand* *waiting for shake* “It’s Ah Deal!”

Really nice looking pit. Like the reverse flow. The smallish pit size is probably going to make it harder to sell. I think it’s in the $3-5K range, however I think it might take a good while for the right person to come along at the high end of the range.

  7. Couple grand. I doubt anyone would pay over 6k for it

  8. I’d ask $4k. I’d expect you to get a lot of offers in the $2,500 range.

I have no idea how much it would be but may I say this is absolutely beautiful. Nicely done!

  10. Somewhere between 2 and 4. I got a trailer mounted Moberg 250 for 6k.

There’s a lot of investment in nonfunctional aesthetics. Not everyone wants to bbq with “swag” or whatever you weirdos call it. I’d say no more than $2500.

Did you intend to make the tree look like smoke in the first picture?

$4 – $5k all day here in Houston, but that is the price of a new pit. This is in like new condition, so I’d start somewhere in that range and lower only to close the deal.

    Nice looking rig though.

You have to decide what you’d let it go for. Ask a Grand over that, and let the bargaining begin! Once you get going trying to sell it you’ll get a better feel for your market

  15. Bigbuckmud

Nice rig, I’d start at 5500 and wouldn’t take no less than 4

$6k, at least. The woodwork, the trailer, the sink.

C’mon people, a smoker on its own would be at least $4k.

Side note, look at other custom manufacturers and see what they’re charging for similar spec.

I personally love the guys at tmg pits. They make expensive, but kick ass stuff. I’d find one that matches what you have and start there.

  19. List $6.5 and take 5 the first time someone offers

    She’s a beaut.

    Ill give you threefiddy

Post for 5k should sell for 4k-4.5k range. If you don’t need the money soon, just store somewhere and use It again. It looks like an amazing setup that’s going to cost you a lot more to build in the future.

It really depends on where you live? Also, it depends on if the rig was made by professionals or as a DIY? What size is the propane tank that was used for the cooker? It looks like about 100 gal tank? Also, tell me about the trailer. What size are the tires?

In the smoking region of Georgia, I’d put about $2,500. You can pick up various 250 gal+ professional made pull-behinds for 3-4k.

I just sold a refurbed Bubba 250 with 2 burners on 15″ tires and a custom trailer for 3k.

Whatever you decide, good luck. Oh, and those were some good lookin’ ribs.

If it produces beautiful BBQ like that last pic, it is critical to the continuance of a rewarding life, impossible to price, and not to be parted with. Smoke on, my friend.

  24. Telefan89

Don’t you dare go trying to put a price on happiness like that…

  25. bfarrellc

Look up similar on line. Go from there. Not a cheap build. Don’t be shy.

  26. curiousbydesign

$3K steal (assuming with trailer). Not over $5K though – but I could see it near there. Proximity will be a factor. I’d buy this masterpiece from you but I’m on the best coast. Nice work and godspeed on the sale.

Puts my one to shame but a very nice job , well done

  28. Old_Vermicelli7483

I have a catering business and would happily pay around 3500-4000 for such a smoker. With 2-3 events a good business can easily make their money back.

Sadly, these days, it’s worth about 150 lbs of brisket.
