I upgraded from an old beat up Chargriller to an OK Joe Highland. I'm seasoning and doing a burnout to get ready for Saturday. I've heard some not so great things about this smoker but it's what I could afford. From handling it so far I think it will do great for my needs.

I got that one.. I remember when it was shiny .. I added some mods to it .. like an extra thermometer on the right side… used heat resistant red caulk cause it does leak.. clamps on the door to hold it tightly closed and a pipe extender for the chimney on the inside to help pull the smoke lower.. I have a video of the mods I can send you if you like .. all and all I have had it for 8 years. And love it

Beautiful. Thought about getting that one myself until I was gifted a vintage New Braunfels. I’m sure you’ll make some magic with it.

I hear good things about it. You made a great choice!

You must be handy with an offset, to smoke this many different types of meat.

Not a lot of us have $2K or more for a high quality offset. For the price of an OKJ and a few mods it can be a pretty good smoker.

This is what I’m hoping to upgrade to as well. How are ya liking it so far? (Even though you’ve just started it up)
