I love baking and usually stick to cookies and pies. But when I heard that my little brother’s girlfriend had never had a birthday cake, I decided to fix that right away. She’s turning 17!

It’s a vanilla cake with Swiss meringue buttercream and strawberry compote filling.

I didn’t have any cake pans, so I baked the layers in pie tins and filled in the gaps with the buttercream. I also did a TON of research beforehand and the biggest thing I learned is to chill between every step! But I really need to practice my piping 😅

Very cute cake! I also thought it said “Happy birthday Sinner” and chuckled 🤭

That’s wonderful for a first go! And also crafty as heck to use the pie pans to get consistent sized layers!

I’m so kinda obsessed with the cake board, the iridescent shimmer gives the cake even more zazz!

    Bravo!

You have done amazingly well, never mind it was your first time.

It’s *beautiful!* I bet she cries happy tears.
