ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A national ice cream shop with 200 locations is planning to open its first in the St. Louis area.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, based in Pittsburgh, where it started 36 years ago, plans to enter the St. Louis market with a location in South County.
The brand received zoning approval to open a walk-up ice cream shop at 5702 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The site, at the corner of Lindbergh and Lin Ferry Drive, was the longtime site of a Church’s Texas Chicken fast-food restaurant that permanently closed near the end of last year. The property has been for sale for a year.
