I think its more likely to bring the plant through winter when you've done it before. Each year the plant will get more resistent/stronger and you'll bring her through with little less effort.

Awesome, I’m hoping to overwinter a few. Deciding in the next few days which varieties. I’m going for the clean soil method. Last time I introduced aphids into my basement and they emerged when I had a bunch of seedlings. Then I released 10,000 ladybugs into my basement and they took care of the aphids.
