LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has arrested 35-year-old John Navarro in connection with an explosion that occurred on Nov. 13 in front of Piero’s Italian Cuisine on Convention Center Drive near Paradise Road.
The incident took place around 2:19 a.m. when two males, one on foot and one on a scooter, arrived at the location.
According to investigators, one suspect placed a package in front of the restaurant’s door and appeared to light a fuse before both suspects fled the scene.
The package exploded a few minutes later.
Navarro was identified as one of the suspects and was taken into custody on Saturday.
He faces multiple charges, including possession and manufacture of an explosive device, first-degree arson, use of an incendiary device to damage property, conspiracy to commit arson, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen vehicle, and operating a vehicle chop shop.
