Drums sounded across the room, and there was Emeril Lagasse walking red-carpet-bound with the Southern University drum line and Mike the Tiger.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band emerged from another entrance and broke into song. \u201cDo Whatcha Wanna\u201d echoed throughout the hall, and the room cheered. The mic soon made its way to the man of the hour, and champagne glasses filled hands throughout the room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s a toast to all of you,\u201d Lagasse said, raising his glass. \u201cEmeril\u2019s Chop House, Baton Rouge. Here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A red ribbon and four pairs of scissors later, Emeril\u2019s Chop House is open for business. The restaurant is located on the third floor of L\u2019Auberge Hotel &amp; Casino (777 L\u2019Auberge Ave.), formerly where 18 Steak was. L\u2019Auberge Chef De Cuisine Brendan Rufty will lead the culinary team at Emeril\u2019s Chop House under the direction of L\u2019Auberge Executive Chef Jared Tees. Erika Mizell will hold day-to-day operations as general manager of the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Reservations can be made online at L\u2019Auberge\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Emeril\u2019s Chop House, 777 L\u2019Auberge Ave., Baton Rouge.
