LOUDON, N.H. \u2014<\/p>\n‘We’ll be back’: Owners of Beanie’s Bar & Grill in Loudon vow to rebuild after three-alarm fire<\/p>\n
Firefighters from multiple departments worked to contain a three-alarm fire at a restaurant in Loudon early Monday morning.<\/p>\n
LOUDON, N.H. \u2014<\/p>\n
Fire crews in Loudon battled a three-alarm fire at Beanie’s Bar & Grill early Monday morning. The restaurant is located near the intersection of Routes 129 and 106.<\/p>\n
The Loudon Fire Chief said crews received a call about the fire at 3 a.m.<\/p>\n
The police department alerted county dispatch to the blaze after driving by the scene.<\/p>\n
George and Nasi Georgopoulos own Beanie’s Bar & Grill and are trying to process the damage.<\/p>\n
“We work hard to put this place together. I don’t know, it’s terrible,” George Georgopoulos said.<\/p>\n
“A lot of blood, sweat, and tears, time put in this place, building it up,” Nasi Georgopoulos said. “It’s kind of become like an unofficial town hall.”<\/p>\n
Fire officials said the fire was heavily concentrated in the kitchen area of the building.<\/p>\n
“We believe the fire started in the kitchen. It’s not sure yet what in the kitchen caused the fire. We may not be able to figure it out due to the extensive damage,” Deputy State Fire Marshal Anthony Booth said. “It’s not suspicious, nobody got hurt, and that’s kind of the best outcome of all of it.”<\/p>\n
Loudon Fire Chief Tom Blanchette was one of the first crews on scene and says he saw fire coming from the roof.<\/p>\n
“I was the next unit on scene, followed by a Concord engine and a Loudon engine. There was heavy involvement in the back of the building, kitchen area, through the roof on both sides,” Blanchette said.<\/p>\n
Units from at least 13 other departments responded to assist.<\/p>\n
The fire was brought under control within 30 to 40 minutes. Fire crews said Eversource will disconnect power to the building.<\/p>\n
“It’s about 50% consumed. I’d say near the back. At this point, the front of the building is in pretty good shape structurally. But as I said, when I pulled in, that’s the first arriving fire unit. The first ten feet of the back of the building was through the roof, all the way on both sides,” the fire chief said.<\/p>\n
Ryan Liska lives next to Beanie’s. He says he woke his family up early Monday morning to get them away from the smoky area.<\/p>\n
“I saw just the whole backyard glowing red, and you can see the flames glowing just from the other side of the trees. They had a really good business there, people were great, food was great,” Liska said.<\/p>\n
The Georgopouloses opened the doors at Beanie’s in 2022. Despite the destruction, they plan to open the doors once again.<\/p>\n
“We’ll be back as soon as we can be,” Nasi Georgopoulos said.<\/p>\n
“You can fix buildings, you can’t fix people. We’ll fix this place up,” George Georgopoulos said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
