{"id":17618,"date":"2026-08-29T10:03:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T10:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/restaurants\/17618\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T10:03:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T10:03:08","slug":"ct-restaurant-closes-drawing-laments-and-memories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/restaurants\/17618\/","title":{"rendered":"CT restaurant closes, drawing laments and memories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurant news came with \u201cheavy hearts, after so many incredible years,\u201d and the business sharing its \u201cdeepest gratitude\u201d with the community.<\/p>\n<p>As have so many Connecticut restaurants in recent years, the business shared its news of closing on social media, offering thanks and good wishes to all have shared its journey.<\/p>\n<p>Tequila Escape, Ridgefield wrote, \u201cThank you for every dinner, every margarita, every celebration, every late night, every birthday, every toast, and every memory we shared along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further, the business noted, \u201cMost importantly, thank you for welcoming us into the Ridgefield community and allowing us to become a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The business \u201cstarted as three guys with a dream and the hope of creating something special became so much more than a restaurant,\u201d according to the business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt became a place filled with friendships, celebrations, laughter, music, and memories that we will carry with us forever,\u201d the post said. \u201cWhile our doors may be closed, the relationships and memories created inside these walls will always remain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As is so often the case, as the news spread, customers lamented, some even calling it \u201cmy favorite place!!!\u201d and adding an \u201coh no.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAww\u2026\u00a0 \u00a0This used to be one of my favorite restaurants,\u201d another customer noted on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate to see and hear this, phenomenal Restaurant it was!\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n<p>A tasty flavor is in season and now you can have it in a cone. Acclaimed CT ice cream maker takes leap for fun<\/p>\n<p>Others said it was a place that built good memories along with the good food.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of my favorite restaurants! Lots of great memories,\u201d a customer posted. \u201cEveryone that worked there were always super kind. Angel and team, wishing you all the very best!\u00a0 You will be missed!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat memories there along with the margaritas and food. My son got a job at that location before some of the owners rebranded it to Tequila Escape. Such a fun place! Best of luck. You\u2019ll be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet another customer thanked the venue for brightening the town.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo many great memories to cherish each time I spent there! It was a magnificent place to meet up with friends! Everyone was always so incredibly kind that worked there! Thank you for the sunshine you brought to Ridgefield! I moved to SC 5 yrs ago but you will never be forgotten! Good luck in your quest for happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat a shame, we really enjoyed the food, staff was amazing. We had plans to go last month but we changed plans. Sorry we missed it,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA wonderful place to go on a date with my wife,\u201d one man shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a super bummer! I think it was the only restaurant in Ridgefield that was open late to my knowledge,\u201d a customer posted.<\/p>\n<p>The venue appreciated all the support it got through the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo our incredible guests, our neighbors, our staff (past and present) and everyone who supported us throughout this journey: thank you from the bottom of our hearts,\u201d they shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe opened our doors with a dream. We close them with infinite gratitude. Ridgefield, thank you for letting us be part of your community and your lives,\u201d they wrote. \u201cThank you. Thank you. Thank you.<br \/>With love and gratitude, Your Tequila Escape Family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others suggested the site maybe should not be wasted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow! Ok let\u2019s make it a nice sports bar now. A lot of tvs and food food. Nothing fancy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Or that the closure was a result of their not patronizing the establishment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stopped going so they closed,\u201d the former customer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>But overwhelmingly the customers were simply thankful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat memories this is where I met my great friends \u2026 and mi amigo \u2026,\u201d one shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch great memories at Tequila Escape!
