Warm lighting, natural materials and the hum of conversation create the feeling of a neighborhood restaurant tucked away in Barcelona rather than one in the middle of the desert.

That’s exactly what co-founder Xavi Padrosa hoped to create.

“Everything in the room—the food, the pace, the energy—is designed to transport you directly to Barcelona, no passport required,” he says.

After years of success with the Teleferic Barcelona locations in California, Scottsdale felt like the obvious next step.

“Scottsdale has evolved into a massive culinary hub where people truly appreciate incredible dining, yet we noticed there wasn’t an authentic, rooted-in-Spain tapas concept here,” Padrosa says.

Before guests even reach the dining room, they’re greeted by El Merkat, the restaurant’s Spanish market stocked with imported olive oils, specialty rice, conservas, paella kits, wines and pantry staples.

The cocktail program is equally impressive. Signature sangrias are available by the glass or as a tasting flight, while cocktails like The Tourist, Red Velvet and Fancy a Carrot? bring a fresh, playful approach to classic Spanish flavors.

Then comes one of the most entertaining moments of the evening. Servers invite guests to take part in a centuries-old Spanish tradition by pouring sangria from high overhead directly into their mouths. It’s equal parts showmanship and celebration, with cheers and laughter filling the dining room.

YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: JING: A NEW ENERGY TO SCOTTSDALE DINING

Dinner starts with fresh Iberian oysters, brightened with citrus, before moving on to one of the restaurant’s signature dishes: the Wagyu empanadas. Wrapped in crisp, flaky pastry and filled with rich, buttery beef, it’s easy to see why this dish is among the menu’s most popular dishes.

The crab croquetas arrive next, perfectly crisp on the outside with a creamy, comforting center. Followed the Pulpo Telefèric, tender octopus prepared with the kind of confidence that comes from honoring tradition. “Authenticity is our priority,” Padrosa says. “Our chefs are from Spain, and every dish begins with key ingredients imported directly from Spain.”

The evening’s centerpiece is the Fiesta Paella. Served family-style in its traditional pan, the colorful combination of lobster, ribeye, and saffron rice is meant to be passed around the table, encouraging conversation as much as it does sharing. “Everything on the menu is built for the middle of the table,” Padrosa says. “Living beautifully starts with slowing down and enjoying special moments with your loved ones.”

Dessert closes the meal on a high note. A refreshing Mochi Matcha offers an unexpected twist before warm, freshly fried churros arrive with rich chocolate for dipping, adding the finishing touch to the Iberian feast.

The restaurant itself deserves just as much attention as the menu. All seven Telefèric locations are designed by Padrosa’s sister and co-founder, Maria Padrosa, who sources many of the furnishings and materials directly from Spain. The Scottsdale location blends Mediterranean warmth with a contemporary edge, creating a space that feels equally suited for a leisurely lunch or a lively Saturday night. On weekends, live DJs take over as part of The Evolution of Sound, a flamenco-inspired program that brings extra energy to the dining room.

YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: IL BRACCO ARRIVES IN SCOTTSDALE

Just as memorable as the food is the hospitality.
