We’ll be reporting from the event tonight, so be on the lookout at CharlotteFive.com.

Best chances for a Michelin Star?

If there’s another Michelin Star in the cards for Charlotte — and that might be too much to hope for in just our second year — I’d look to Omakase Experience by Prime Fish., on Providence at South Sharon Amity roads. To start, the omakase and its OG sister spot, Prime Fish, are the only sushi restaurants in the Carolinas that are already listed in the guide.

Chef and owner Robin Anthony’s focus on serving the best products in the world is unmatched in Charlotte, and his James Beard Award semifinalist status shows he’s got the chops. Here are few I think are worthy of Michelin attention and why.

Location: 525 S. Tryon St., Charlotte

Undoubtably one of Charlotte’s most elegant restaurants, filled with marble, velvet and artwork, Albertine has presence. Southern magazine Garden & Gun called out the uptown restaurant named after Queen Charlotte’s mother as a must-visit spot in 2025.

Under bar lighting adds to the ambiance at Albertine in uptown Charlotte.
