A nine-month-old baby is dead and his mother and 5-year-old sister are hospitalized after they were hit by a car in a grocery store parking lot on Friday morning, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. <\/p>\n
Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department were called to the Jackson NPGS grocery store on West County Line Road around 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 28 after a crash was reported, officials said. <\/p>\n
When they got to the scene, officers said that a mother and her two children had been hit by a car in the parking lot of the store. <\/p>\n
All three were taken to a nearby hospital where the nine-month-old baby boy was pronounced dead, officials reported. The boy’s mother and five-year-old sister are in stable condition. <\/p>\n
Investigators revealed that Maria CobonGuzman, 20, was driving a Ford Fusion when she hit the mother who was pushing her children in a baby carriage through the parking lot. <\/p>\n
Officials say that CobonGuzman does not have a valid drivers license. She was charged with manslaughter and other related charges. <\/p>\n
Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, is also charged in connection to this incident for allowing CobonGuzman to drive the Ford without a license, officials said. <\/p>\n
Both CobonGuzman and Lazaro-Flores were arrested and are being held in the Ocean County Jail as they wait for a detention hearing. <\/p>\n
