The supermarket slated to be built will be an anchor tenant, the Healthy Living Market & Cafe in Halfmoon. This grocery store will be approximately twenty-five thousand square feet, and construction is estimated to take eight to nine months.<\/p>\n
Healthy Living Market & Caf\u00e9 has a store at the Wilton Mall that opened\u00a0in 2013.\u00a0It is a Vermont-based supermarket. They hope to hire one hundred employees at the new store.<\/p>\n
There are other grocery store options in the area, including Price Chopper Market 32, Hannaford, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, Green Grocer, Walmart, and Target.\u00a0According to the Albany Business Review, Healthy Living offers a unique grocery shopping experience.<\/p>\n
This will be the first\u00a0construction project that will, when completed, be ten buildings on the twenty-acre site near the intersection of\u00a0Route 146 and Old Route 146 across from Lowe’s. The whole complex is called 146 Marketplace. They will have 10,500 square feet of commercial space with nearly 150 apartments, retail space, and more. The project is expected to be\u00a0fully built\u00a0in ten years.<\/p>\n
Not counting Healthy Living, there will be 55,000 square feet of commercial space in the 10 buildings when 146 Marketplace is fully built over the next decade. About 65% of the space is already leased.<\/p>\n
The 146 Marketplace will look similar to Starbuck Island, located across the Hudson River from downtown Troy.<\/p>\n
