Stearman Airfield is located in Benton, Kan.(KWCH)<\/p>\nBENTON, Kan. (KWCH) \u2014 The Benton Police Department is investigating an alleged battery that took place at Stearman Field Bar and Grill on Friday.<\/p>\n
The investigation began after a customer posted about an experience she had at the restaurant while celebrating her two-year-old daughter\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n
The woman said a server brought out an ice cream cup with a candle for her daughter to blow out. She said that while her daughter was attempting to blow out the candle, a man approached the child, kissed her on the cheek and blew out the birthday candle himself.<\/p>\n
Although not on video, the woman claims the man tried to touch her daughter her again but she stopped him and after exchanging some vulgarities he left. <\/p>\n
Stearman Airfield is located in Benton, Kan.(KWCH)<\/p>\n
Police said officers responded to the restaurant around 8:24 p.m. Officers gathered statements from witnesses and collected video of the incident, which has been circulating on social media.<\/p>\n
Man identified as equity holder<\/p>\n
The man was identified as an \u201cequity holder\u201d for Stearman Airfield, Deano\u2019s Grill & Tapworks, Oak & Pie, Deano\u2019s on Pier 37 and Morgan\u2019s Steakhouse.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe safety and satisfaction of our customers is our highest priority. We are taking steps to ensure that this type of conduct does not happen again,\u201d reads a statement on the Facebook pages for Deano\u2019s, Oak & Pie and Morgan\u2019s Steakhouse.<\/p>\n

Investigation ongoing<\/p>\n
Benton police said officers are continuing with the investigation and will be forwarding all reports to the appropriate prosecutor\u2019s office for review.<\/p>\n
12 News has reached out to Stearman Airfield and its management company for further comment, but has not heard back at the time this story was published.<\/p>\n
