{"id":21307,"date":"2026-09-20T05:27:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T05:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/us\/21307\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T05:27:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T05:27:12","slug":"6-firefighters-injured-battling-brooklyn-restaurant-fire-fdny-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/us\/21307\/","title":{"rendered":"6 firefighters injured battling Brooklyn restaurant fire, FDNY says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crews battled a fire at a Brooklyn restaurant Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The FDNY says they received a call just before 5:30 p.m. reporting a fire at a building located on North Fifth Street between Bedford Avenue and Berry Street.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I saw a big cloud of fire basically burst out of &#8230; the restaurant Juliette,&#8221; one witness said.<\/p>\n<p>According to fire officials, three restaurants occupy the building, and the fire extended through the space between the ceiling and the roof  from one restaurant into the two adjoining restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the fire, the impacted restaurants were evacuated.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ramos-11p-pkg-williamsb-wcbsj3do-hi-res-still.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"Exterior of three restaurants and firefighters \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  A fire broke out in a Brooklyn building occupied by three restaurants on Sept. 19, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>                CBS News New York<\/p>\n<p>FDNY officials say there was a smoke explosion at one point, along with a localized collapse on the roof. The blaze grew to four alarms with over 200 fire and EMS personnel responding, fire officials say.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Like the chaos that ensued, like just crowds started coming,&#8221; another witness said. &#8220;There were so many people inside, coming in and out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crews got the fire under control just after 8:30 p.m., the FDNY says.<\/p>\n<p>Six firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment, officials say.
