The company is targeting specific types of underperforming restaurants for these closures:<\/p>\n
Aged Locations:\u00a0Most are franchisee-owned and more than a decade old.<\/p>\n
Financial Underperformance:\u00a0Targeted stores typically have average unit volumes under $600,000 and generate negative income.<\/p>\n
Proximity:\u00a0Some closures will occur where sales can be effectively transferred to a nearby existing restaurant.<\/p>\n
Strategic Transformation:\u00a0These closures represent about 8.5% to 9% of the chain’s total North American footprint.<\/p>\n
