(KMDL-FM) We all know the cost of going out to eat, like the cost of everything else, is going up. Still, there are many great restaurants that are not only offering you great food at a fair price, but also giving you value for your dollar. That’s what we’re hoping to share with you through this article; these are the places that you’ve told us “give you your money’s worth”.<\/p>\n

Value is the operative word that we are hoping to define for you but in our research on what you like, don’t like, want to pay for and don’t want to pay for we found out that value means different things to different people. That is why you’re going to argue with several of the selections on this list.<\/p>\n

Some people view value as portion size. In other words,did I get a lot to eat for the money that I spent. Other people value quality when they dine out. Did I spend money on quality food that was prepared professionally?<\/p>\n

Yet others strictly go by price. Which, in my opinion, defeats the whole purpose of going out. If you’re going to be worried about the cost, then stay at home and cook it yourself. Otherwise, take this one meal and enjoy it for what it is and what it costs.<\/p>\n

The way we arrived at our list is by gleaning the data offered by YouGov. They look at several factors that drive consumer spending habits. Among those habits, for restaurant-goers, these are the cost of food, quality of food, atmosphere of the restaurant, kind of food on offer, and demographic appeal.<\/p>\n

We then took that information and came up with our cost-to-value index, which was based not only on those factors, but we also included special weight to quality as well. Because here in South Louisiana, you know what they call a restaurant with high prices and bad food? We call them closed, and yes, there is a reason why Red Lobster isn’t here any longer.<\/p>\n
