YORK, Pa. \u2014 September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire community action.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In York County, nearly 60,000 people, including one in seven children, face food insecurity, according to statistics gathered by The Food Trust.<\/p>\n
Two York County restaurants are hosting “dine to donate” events this fall to raise awareness \u2013 and raise food and funds \u2013 for the York County Food Bank (YCFB).\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Bridgewater Public House, located at 601 Chestnut Hill Road in York, will host the first event.<\/p>\n
The second event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Octo. 8 at Texas Roadhouse, 1510 Mt. Zion Road, York.<\/p>\n
Supporters are encouraged to mention the York County Food Bank when dining during these events, so a percentage of the meal ticket will be donated to the YCFB.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dine\u2011outers can feel proud knowing their meal out is pulling double duty — they enjoy skipping the dishes while supporting restaurants that give back to the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A simple act of dining out strengthens the local food network. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
