{"id":40174,"date":"2026-10-02T05:50:41","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T05:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/us\/40174\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T05:50:41","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T05:50:41","slug":"columbus-food-truck-festival-brings-new-appearance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diningandcooking.com\/us\/40174\/","title":{"rendered":"Columbus Food Truck festival brings new appearance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBUS, Ohio \u2014\u00a0Food trucks, tents and new cuisines are about to take over the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Columbus Food Truck festival\u00a0runs until Saturday, and the founder said his goal is to give everyone a break from their routine while bringing in some new surprises.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the 15th year of the festival, there will be new appearances, including Jordan Faeth from the dating show Love is Blind on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMade some chocolate chip cookies \u2014 this is my mom\u2019s recipe,\u201d Faeth said.<\/p>\n<p>Faeth said he\u2019s now exploring a different kind of love, and the festival is allowing him to connect with the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had a really good opportunity to explore my love for food through social media, would love to be able to continue to do that,\u201d Faeth said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s sharing my own recipes, with cooking videos or getting to meet cool people who do things like the Columbus Food Truck Festival, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of Faeth\u2019s current plans is to share his momma\u2019s cookies at the festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mom will kill me if I give up the recipe,\u201d Faeth said. \u201cBut you can come get them, I promise I\u2019ll give you one for free until we run out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a festival that\u2019s bringing together the love of food.<\/p>\n<p>For the founder of the festival, Chas Kaplan, food and music feed and heal the soul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour smash burgers, your pizza, chicken wings,\u201d Kaplan said. \u201cThere\u2019s a vendor that smokes tomahawk steaks vertically over this wild, interesting smoker Robinson smokehouse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s the first time Kaplan said he\u2019s working with kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years old, bringing in the Kids Market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSelling anything from, if you remember and I\u2019m aging myself pet rocks to sports cards, whatever little knickknacks they\u2019ve made,\u201d Kaplan said. \u201cCome and support those little kids.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For some vendors, food carries its own meaning.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Esposite, the owner of Island Noodles, said this is a family recipe from a native Hawaiian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say the biggest thing is it just brings people together,\u201d Esposite said. \u201cYou\u2019ll smell it from outside the gates because the aroma coming off the walks, there\u2019s live cooking action, so we\u2019re cutting fresh vegetables as we make them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Faeth, he\u2019s ready to take on new challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be cooking island noodles with Brad so come see me there too,\u201d Faeth said.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest question: if Love is Blind is the way to the heart through the stomach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like I was always the one cooking on the show or I was always the one they showed eating,\u201d Faeth said. \u201cSo, I guess you could say that, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBUS, Ohio \u2014\u00a0Food trucks, tents and new cuisines are about to take over the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Friday.
