This year&#8217;s October lineup features community presentations, food demonstrations and events celebrating local food and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Courtesy\/Food Town Laredo<\/p>\n<p>The Laredo Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability (LCUAS) has unveiled the full schedule for its Food Town Laredo series, bringing together community leaders, local food advocates and residents for a month of events celebrating food, culture and healthy living.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-channels-pixel.ex.co\/events\/0012000001fxZm9AAE?integrationType=DEFAULT&amp;template=design%2Farticle%2Fplatypus_two_column.tpl\" alt=\"\" class=\"x1px y1px vh abs\" aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The series, which begins this weekend, explores the cultural significance of regional foods while highlighting the produce and people behind them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>According to Food Town Laredo, community food ambassadors will lead Sabores de Nuestra Comunidad, one of the demo events, including Jessica Oquendo, an LCUAS educator; David C\u00e1rdenas, an LCUAS volunteer and rancher; Ari Garcia, founder of JM Cold Press &amp; Juices; and Belinda Flores, founder and owner of Bella Gourmet Food.<\/p>\n<p>The October schedule includes:<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, Oct. 10 \u2014 Sabores de Nuestra Comunidad<\/p>\n<p>Time: 10 a.m. to noon<br \/>Location: LCUAS Demonstration Farm, 1415 Chihuahua St.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Community food ambassadors will share presentations highlighting local food traditions, followed by a live cooking demonstration.
