Here, Chef Tushar Tondvalkar approaches modern Indian fare with a delicate balance, while playing on the connection between food and personal memories. Given Tondvalkar’s Mumbai upbringing, the menu bridges time-honored Indian flavors and cooking techniques with ingredients grown in British Columbia. Dishes come in the form of small and large plates and include farm zucchini chaat (a fried dough street food snack) with spiced yogurt, tamarind and mint chutney; Tesfa Farm paneer saag served with mustard and chili tadka (spices bloomed in hot oil); and dry aged Fraser Valley duck curry.

Take a seat and dig into some beef and Chinese eggplant stir-fry at Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant. © Jason Chen/Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant

Promoted Bib Gourmand Also making the Bib Gourmand list in 2026 is the former MICHELIN-recommended Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant. While the Cantonese restaurant in Fairview offers a few splurge items like the signature marinated chicken with black truffle sauce, Inspectors highlight what they call “great value dishes” such as steamed spareribs with garlic and blistered green beans with minced pork. Overall, they consider the lunch menu a “steal,” and a dim sum menu is also available.

All of Vancouver’s Bib Gourmands 2026
Anh and Chi
Cuisine: Vietnamese

Chef’s Choice Chinese Cuisine
Cuisine: Cantonese

Farmer’s Apprentice
Cuisine: Contemporary

Gary’s
Cuisine: French

Good Thief
Cuisine: Vietnamese

Karma Indian Bistro
Cuisine: Indian

Kavita
Cuisine: Indian

Little Bird Dim Sum + Craft Beer
Cuisine: Chinese

Lunch Lady
Cuisine: Vietnamese

Magari by Oca
Cuisine: Contemporary

Motonobu Udon
Cuisine: Udon

Phnom Penh
Cuisine: Vietnamese

Seaport City Seafood
Cuisine: Chinese

Song (by Kin Kao)
Cuisine: Thai

Sushi Hil
Cuisine: Japanese

Vij’s
Cuisine: Indian

Hero image: Duck Tikka from Kavita. © Sherman Chong/Kavita

                                    Written by
the MICHELIN Guide

On October 6, 2026, the Selection for the MICHELIN Guide Vancouver was revealed, spotlighting 16 restaurants that have received Bib Gourmand awards.
