From Rainier cherries to Walla Walla Onions, Washington is a fertile state. And the fresh focus often means rotating menus, innovative meals, and good attention for special diet diners. Consequently, this Washington state guide for dairy-free options just keeps on growing. It’s a collection of restaurants, bakeries, cafes, ice cream shops, and stores that are friendly to dairy-free diners, and based on research and reader recommendations (send yours!). We’ve divided it into restaurants & shops by city (first) and major chains found throughout the state (second). And we’ve started a section for specialty dairy-free foods produced in this state.

This post is updated continuously! We update whenever we’re alerted to a new recommendation, change, or closure. But the listings are for informational purposes only and are merely ideas for consideration. Restaurant menus, staff, and policies do change, and potential allergen cross-contamination is a risk in any commercial kitchen. Only you can decide what is safe for your needs.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-275202" src="https://www.diningandcooking.com/us/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/WA-writing-cafe-flora.jpg" alt="Washington State Dairy-Free Dining Guide with Vegan and Gluten-Free Options too! The weather leans toward cold and wet, and it’s the original home to two of the most renown coffee chains: Starbucks and Seattle’s Best Coffee. Beyond these behemoths, you can find many small chain and local coffee shops, most with dairy-free milk beverage options, and some with vegan pastries.

For heartier eats, Washington is also well-loved for it’s abundance of brewpubs, bakehouses, seafood eateries, and farm-to-table cuisine. You’ll find several of these in the dairy-free friendly guide below. We’ve listed these recommendations alphabetically by city and then by the restaurant or shop name. For large chains with locations throughout the state, see the Major Restaurant & Grocery Chains section below. We have dedicated posts with dairy-free details for many of the big guys.

⭐️ = Restaurant is either dairy-free, has a dairy-free menu, has dairy-free labels on their menu(s), or lists top allergens with menu items. Most of their non-cheesy bagels are dairy-free (it looks like most of the sweet ones are too!), and they offer a big menu of craft sandwiches. They also have a full coffee bar with soymilk and oat milk options.
Din Tai Fung – This is an upscale Taiwanese chain that specializes in Chinese Huaiyang cuisine. They offer a full allergen and special diet chart, and, at last check, all of their savory menu items were dairy-free and all but one of their sweet bao was dairy-free (most are vegan!). Each one “always” scoops their creamy vegan coconut chunk flavor, and seasonally offers another vegan option. They also have a vegan chocolate hard shell, and a couple other dairy-free toppings. However, a customer named Katja let us know they do not use a separate scoop for the vegan flavor, which causes cross contamination with the dairy flavors. Check at your location before ordering to find out if this has changed.
MOX Restaurant ⭐️ – Thanks to Becca for letting us know they mark dairy-free items on their menu. They can also do vegan custom cake orders in their bakery.
Good to Go Meat Pies – Unfortunately, the meat pies at this pasty house do contain milk. She says they were “great about quickly getting back to about ingredients same day by email in time for my work gathering. They have a variety of dairy free breads and I was able to make at least one sandwich work for me (turkey cranberry chutney) by omitting cheese and mayo. The cashier was very knowledgeable about allergens and confirmed off the top of their, head what would work for milk/soy free, I was impressed.” They do have a limited allergen chart available, but speak with the staff to confirm as the allergen info is inconsistent.
White Cap Frozen Yogurt – Thanks to SJ for letting us know this froyo shop “offers a ton of dairy free and full vegan options and they’re delicious! Lots of dairy free frozen goodies too. They have a deli upstairs which I’ve heard referred to as allergy friendly. But the server there on the day I was there couldn’t answer any questions about ingredients so it was a bust unfortunately.”

Ferndale

The Steak House at Silver Reef Casino – This is a 5 mile jaunt west off of the highway through what looks like, well nowhere, but it is easily worth the detour.
