While there are plenty of fun spots on University Boulevard, much of Tucson goes unexplored by students. Below is a list of off-campus recommendations, should one ever need to break free from campus life. <\/p>\n<p>Hiking<\/p>\n<p>Sentinel Peak, or \u201cA\u201d Mountain, is a historically loved landmark in Tucson. The paved trail is approximately 1.7 miles long and makes for a great decompressing walk in the evening. To kick off Homecoming at UA, students and alumni light the \u201cA\u201d during a ceremonial event.<\/p>\n<p>Seven Falls at Sabino Canyon is an especially popular trail, coming in at around 8.5 miles long. At the trail\u2019s peak, the Seven Falls waterfalls flow ravishingly. The cool water is a pleasant reward for hikers, especially in the Arizona heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mount Lemmon offers plenty of trails for hikers to enjoy, a community favorite being the Marshall Gulch trail. Over 2.5 miles long, Marshall Gulch showcases the greenery that Tucson has to offer up north. After the hike, explore the general store and fudge in Summerhaven, the Cookie Cabin and more.<\/p>\n<p>Cafe &amp; Study<\/p>\n<p>Time Market, only a stop away from Tyndall via Sun Link Streetcar, has pizza, coffee and grocery options available. The atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to study with light chatter in the background or to catch up with a friend. Seating options are both indoors and outdoors with a shaded patio.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Le Buzz Caffe has two locations in Tucson, at Fort Lowell and Tanque Verde. With beautiful outdoor seating, the cafe offers plenty on their drink menu, and even more for breakfast or lunch. Whether it\u2019s a quiet sit or a social meal, Le Buzz is versatile for any occasion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yellow Brick Coffee is located around the Sam Hughes neighborhood and offers classic cafe drinks, breakfast or brunch options. Frequent customers highly praise its smoothies and outdoor patio. Yellow Brick Coffee can get busy during the late mornings, but still offers quiet areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shopping<\/p>\n<p>La Encantada Shopping Center is an outdoor shopping mall in the Catalina Foothills, perfectly slow for escaping busy Tucson. Offering popular stores like Free People, Anthropologie, Levi\u2019s and more, the shopping center has plenty of restaurant options for any craving.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sixth Avenue Antiques is a staple vintage shop, with three stories packed with clothes, jewelry and miscellaneous antiques. With unique items that are consistently updated by vendors, Sixth Avenue Antiques is a hotspot in downtown Tucson.<\/p>\n<p>The Tucson Mall is the largest shopping center in Southern Arizona, with a wide variety of clothing stores, restaurants, boutiques and entertainment. Tucson Mall is a classic, perfectly-sized spot to spend your day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Restaurants<\/p>\n<p>Locale Neighborhood Italian is one of the most favored Italian spots in town, offering both lunch and dinner options. The appetizers, happy hour and bakery give Locale a unique taste. Ten minutes away from campus, the ambiance of Locale is unmatched.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Amelia\u2019s Mexican Kitchen is a beloved restaurant around town, not only for its Mexican cuisine but also for the feel-good atmosphere of the dining room. Open 7 a.m. to roughly 9 p.m. every day, from breakfast burritos to enchiladas, both the midtown and north locations are consistent and authentic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fig\u2019s Oven &amp; Enoteca falls on the eastside of Tucson, with a creative menu and especially intimate dining room. For an intentional night out, many diners accredit this Mediterranean restaurant as the best in Tucson.
