FAIRFIELD \u2014 Delaware-based poultry incubator and coops provider Hatching Time recently announced it has launched a supplement food company for dogs and cats called Oldfield Pets, which is based in Fairfield.<\/p>\n
Founded in late 2025 by Hatching Time Co-CEOs Ryan Flanagan and Yagiz Aksu together with veteran pet industry voice Clayton Payne, Oldfield Pets brings clean, transparent nutrition to household pets at prices designed for everyday feeding.<\/p>\n
The launch answers a pattern the company observed across its customer base: nearly nine in 10 poultry keepers also share their homes with a dog or cat, yet the standards they apply to their flocks are hard to satisfy in the conventional pet aisle, where lengthy ingredient panels, artificial preservatives, and premium pricing dominate the shelves.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy rescue dog, Hazel, was a big part of getting this started,\u201d said Ryan Flanagan, Co-CEO of Hatching Time and Oldfield Pets. \u201cChanging her diet showed me how hard it is to find treats and supplements that aren\u2019t crazy expensive and have ingredients you actually recognize.\u201d<\/p>\n
Flanagan explained the origin of the company.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it really came together when Yagiz and I started talking about my concerns for Hazel, and Clayton brought his lifetime in the pet industry to the table,\u201d Flanagan said. \u201cOldfield Pets was born, named after Oldfield Road in our Fairfield neighborhood, Hazel\u2019s first real home.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the center of the launch is Oldfield Naturals, a treat and chew line in which every product contains exactly one ingredient. The range spans five proteins: chicken, duck, deer, beef, and rabbit.<\/p>\n
The company simultaneously introduced Karnlea, a family of powdered food toppers targeting the most common pet health concerns.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur customers at Hatching Time built healthy diets for their flocks and their families, and their pets ate well because of it,\u201d said Aksu. \u201cOldfield Pets packages that farm-to-table philosophy for households that don\u2019t have a farm. Keeping each product simple lets us deliver genuine quality without the specialty-brand markup.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clayton Payne, who grew up in his family\u2019s pet store and hosts one of the world\u2019s largest B2B pet industry podcasts, joined the founding team to guide the brand\u2019s growth. \u201cI\u2019ve spent my career watching this industry chase whatever trends the market rewards,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat drew me to co-found Oldfield Pets is discipline and overseeing sourcing from farm to package and refusing to add anything a pet doesn\u2019t need. That\u2019s how trust gets built.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oldfield Pets products are available at OldfieldPets.com and through Tractor Supply Co., Petco, Chewy, Amazon, and Walmart, with distribution to independent pet retailers and feed stores expanding through the company\u2019s wholesale program.<\/p>\n
