Hoppin\u2019 in South End Charlotte is closing \u2014 though it\u2019s not yet clear how soon.<\/p>\n

Owners of the self-pour taproom and cocktail bar shared the news in an Instagram post Wednesday, but stopped just short of confirming its last day in business. The reason behind the decision also wasn\u2019t made public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had plenty of fun on here over the years,\u201d the post read. \u201cThis is the post we never wanted to make.\u201d<\/p>\n

CharlotteFive reached out to Hoppin\u2019 for more information but didn\u2019t immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

The South End location debuted in 2017, marking Charlotte\u2019s first self-serve bar, Axios Charlotte reported at the time. The space features 60-plus taps made up of beer, wine and ros\u00e9, plus a full service cocktail bar.<\/p>\n

The menu also featured tacos, corn dogs, loaded French fries and other bar bites.<\/p>\n

In May, Hoppin\u2019 shuttered its Rock Hill taphouse after three years in business, the Rock Hill Herald reported. The bar is still slated to open a new location on North Ames Street in Matthews.<\/p>\n

In their farewell post, the owners at Hoppin\u2019 Charlotte encouraged locals to \u201cround up your crew and come make some more memories with us\u201d as they iron out the closing details.<\/p>\n

Charlotteans quickly took to social media to mourn the loss of their neighborhood watering hole:<\/p>\n

\u201cEnd of an era\u2026heart broken that me and my future hypothetical son will never share a drink together here,\u201d Hunter Rankin commented.\u201cYou were so good to us Hoppin!!!! Such a special place & a special time. I will absolutely be coming by to raise hell one more time,\u201d Laurene wrote.Amanda Valladares simply wrote, \u201cNOOO.\u201d\u201cNot the news I wanted to see,\u201d Jonathan Briggs commented. \u201cSo many memories here.\u201d<\/p>\n
