Norwalk-based Cingari Family Markets announced in December that it will open its second ShopRite location in Danbury on Newtown Road sometime in 2026. The chain, which operates 10 ShopRite locations in Connecticut and two Grade A supermarkets, already has a store in the city at 1 Padanaram Road.<\/p>\n
The new Danbury store will give the Cingari family three Danbury area location. The family operates the Brookfield ShopRite on Federal Road.<\/p>\n
Market 32 stores are part of an effort begun more than a decade ago by the Schenectady, N.Y.-based Golub Corp, to rebrand the company’s better-known Price Chopper stores.
