I have been dancing with the idea of a weekly baking ritual since the start of April. I am getting into baking and think it would be charming to bake a fresh recipe on Sundays; loaves of breads, cookies, cakes, to share throughout the week. And make a solo-date out of it.

Is this customary for anyone else? How do you make it special? šŸ„°

Here are the lemon crinkle cookies from this week (only lasted a day and a half), strawberry banana bread from last week, and scones from the week before.

Absolutely. Iā€™ve been making a loaf of sandwich bread every Sunday for a while now. Itā€™s fun to have the routine, and have something good to eat throughout the week. Give it a try and see what works best for you.

I bake for my family each weekend. A bread, a dessert, a breakfast bake, and a snack. They love it, I enjoy it, and we are eating well.

I donā€™t know what you mean by special? Itā€™s work, but input music on and enjoy it. I choose items I want to eat, that are seasonal, which keeps it interesting and less expensive.

This is where our extra fruit goes, to avoid waste.

Itā€™s 2-3 hours for a big return. If you have an organized pantry and organized kitchen, start with a clean kitchen and clean as you go, itā€™s pretty efficient.

I make banana bread or pineapple bread plus either a white farmhouse style bread or Russian black bread once a week to have bread for the week, normally on Monday I make it. The kinda funny thing is Iā€™m a male gymnastics coach and skateboarder and Iā€™ll listen to like old big band music or vintage country (Janie Fricke, early Reba) when I bake stuff for some reason.

I usually do muffins every week and sometimes cookies. I like an easy breakfast snack throughout the week.

I bake something different depending on ingredients in season.

Winter carrots season has almost ended here and i have a few. So today Iā€™m baking a carrot cake with pineapple raisins and walnuts.

I love this idea. I have a sourdough starter so *should* be baking every week but donā€™t always. I like the idea of making it intentionalā€¦self care?

Ps. Would you mind sharing the lemon crinkle recipe?

I was baking weekly for my husband and to bring in extra to our work places. This gave me an excuse to try new recipes, and get the sweets I was craving without having to commit to a whole cake/pie/whatever.

Since December Iā€™ve been dieting, and have baked sweets only a few times. šŸ˜¢
