Ingredients
- Bitters
- 2 ½ ounces Maker’s Mark bourbon (or rye if you prefer)
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- Maraschino cherry or lemon twist for garnish

Preparation
- Shake one or two drops of bitters into a cocktail glass, gently twisting the glass from side to side. Shake out excess, leaving only the residue.
- Mix bourbon or rye with sweet vermouth in a mixing glass. Add ice. Shake well. Strain contents into cocktail glass. Add cherry or lemon.
